Design, synthesis and characterisation of organochalcogenides from 2,3-Dibromopyridine

Abstract
A novel method for the preparation of hitherto
unknown symmetrical 2/3-bromo substituted pyridyl dichalcogenides (E = Se
and Te) from 2,3-dibromopyridine is being reported. All the newly synthesized
compounds have been characterized through elemental analysis employing various
spectroscopic techniques, namely, NMR (1H, 13C, 77Se,
125Te), infrared and mass spectrometry.
